Privacy Policy

Effective September 26, 2026.

Ensemble is a music player for libraries and services you connect. We do not run an Ensemble account service, sell your personal information, or use your listening activity for advertising.

Information in the app

Ensemble keeps your music library information, recent searches, settings, and connected-service credentials on your devices. Configurable iCloud sync features are on by default; when available, Plex account and server credentials, enabled libraries, pins, hidden items, and preferences can sync through Apple's iCloud and iCloud Keychain. Your profile name and photo can also sync to your private CloudKit database, separately from those settings.

The app communicates directly with services you choose to use. Plex receives sign-in and library requests, an app-generated client identifier, and playback updates such as position and completed tracks. Apple Music receives catalog searches when you search its catalog. Those services handle the requests under their own privacy policies. We do not receive a copy of your library or credentials on an Ensemble server.

Diagnostic logs

Ensemble saves diagnostic logs on your device by default. They can include device and app details and information about app activity. The app keeps the five most recent log sessions. You can turn off persistent logging, view or delete saved sessions, and choose to share a log from the app's Logs screen. Logs are not automatically uploaded to us.

Shared links

When you choose “Share Ensemble Link,” the app creates the link on your device. Creating it does not upload your library or contact Cloudflare. The link itself contains the shared item’s title and may contain artist, album, year, duration, track or disc number, or playlist type. It does not contain your Plex credentials or an audio file. Anyone you give the link to can see the information in its URL.

Opening a link in a browser, or checking whether it can open in the app, can send a request for that URL through Cloudflare. Cloudflare can process the visitor’s IP address, request time, device and browser information, and the full URL, including the music information in it. Cloudflare’s Worker logs and tracing are enabled for this site, so request URLs may appear in those records. The website uses the link to open Ensemble or show an opening page; it does not create an account or store the link in an Ensemble database.

The separate “Share Link” option for songs and albums may ask Apple Music and song.link to find a general music link. Those services receive the music information needed for that request. Sharing an audio file sends the file through the destination you select in the system share sheet.

Website visits

Our website and support pages are delivered through Cloudflare. Cloudflare processes request and network information to deliver, secure, and measure traffic, and may use security cookies. Some current site pages are served through Notion, which can receive information about visits and may set cookies on its own domains. We do not add our own advertising or analytics trackers. Cloudflare retains Worker logs according to its service settings; the site code does not create a separate archive of those request logs.

Your choices

You can stop using a connected music service in Ensemble, turn off the configurable iCloud sync features in the app's settings, clear recent searches, and choose whether to create or open a shared link. The profile's CloudKit sync currently operates separately from those settings. Removing the app does not necessarily remove data already synced to iCloud or held by a connected service. For privacy questions or requests about information available to us through the website, email ensemble@nysics.com. If you email us, we receive your address and message so we can respond.

Other services and changes

For data handled by other services, see the privacy policies of Cloudflare, Notion, Apple, and Plex. We will update this page if Ensemble's data practices change and revise the effective date above.
